Hi! We’re 1st Chelmsford!
We are a Scout Group based just outside of the Chelmsford City Centre, serving young people from age 4 to age 14. We teach them #SkillsForLife so they can ace that interview, master that tricky challenge, or attain that big dream.
We are part of a worldwide movement with over 1 million members just in the UK, aiming to create stronger communities and inspiring positive futures.
We have a Squirrel Drey, Beaver Colony, a Cub Pack, and a Scout Troop, supporting your young people from 4-14. We may be an organisation for the communities young people, but there’s plenty to do for adults as well. To do what we do best, we need volunteers to undertake a variety of roles, ‘in the field’ and behind the scenes too.
Scouts are do-ers and give-it-a-go-ers. Yes, we go camping, hiking, swimming, abseiling, cycling and canoeing. But we also get to hang out with our friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.
Everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your child’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it. We believe in bringing people together. We celebrate diversity and stand against intolerance, always.
